That’s 9 billion euros more than the year before. About 176 million European consumers also shopped online from abroad, which is an increase of 17 million in a year.

Govt to set up watchdog for retailers

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has urged the government to set up a proper watchdog which will regulate both offline and online retailers and oversee any violation of foreign direct investment (FDI) rules governing the country’s retail trade.

In a meeting with commerce and industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman last week, CAIT complained against alleged violation of FDI rules by e-tailers, CAIT secretary general Praveen Khandelwal told FE.

Mumbai International Airport to expand its T2 App

GVK Group-run Mumbai International Airport, which net almost 55% of its revenue from non-aero business, will soon be expanding its e-commerce app 'Mumbai T2 App' to facilitate online booking of retail products both for passengers.

Joining its global peers, the MIAL launched the app last November and the airport's chief commercial officer Sanjay Khanna said, the airport "will be expanding our offerings through the app to include online booking of goods from the over 150 retail shops in the sprawling airport as part of the second phase."
